If you found your partner at the bottom of a pool would you pull him/her out and attempt CPR or would you call 911, and leave him/her there until the police arrives? What would you do?

Today, Rodney King was found dead at the bottom of a pool. Rodney King was 47 and was known for being a victim of police brutality in 1991, which caused the notorious LA Riots. Reports surrounding his death state that his fiancée found him at the bottom of a pool, she then called the police. According to reports, it was the police who got his lifeless body out of the pool.

I personally do not know all the details surrounding his demise. However, I can’t help to wonder why is it that his fiancée did not jump in the pool to get him out and attempt to perform CPR. I wonder if perhaps she did not know how to swim, but if so, I would have personally ran frantically and knocked on every neighbors door to at least make an attempt to save his life until the cops got there.

Again, I do not know all the details, however I can’t help to wonder why she waited for the police, without making an attempt to save his life. What do you think and what would you have done?
